Get the food safety facts

Get the food safety facts and keep food borne illness out of your store The Canadian government estimates 11 million people each year suffer from food-borne illness – A.K.A food poisoning. Most instances are contracted outside the home, occurring because safe food handling practices are not put into play. Any retailer who handles or prepares food in their store must be certified in many regions of Ontario. Are you? The CCSA invites you to a session where Toronto Public Health Inspector Owen Chong will take you through the hows and whys of safe food handling. Once you’ve sat through the session, we encourage you to go online and take our Food Handler Safety Training course, (as part of the Responsible Retail Training program and free to all OCSA members). Then you’ll be ready to write your exam on a date of your choosing to get certificated.
